Let the “Slams”-ing begin

Javier Milei is a right-wing libertarian economist who became the president of Argentina in 2023.
…Milei outlined a radical platform calling for sweeping changes that were familiar to those who had followed his television appearances. He proposed combating inflation by doing away with the Central Bank and replacing the national currency, the Argentine peso, with the U.S. dollar. As part of his pledge to downsize government and drastically reduce spending, he promised to eliminate the ministries of education, health, and public works and to rely instead on private investment in the sectors they oversee. Moreover, he vowed to lower costs for employers, relax the country’s labor laws, and never raise taxes. He brought a chainsaw with him on the campaign trail as a loud, powerful symbol of his policy intentions.
Libertarians, is this guy yours?
Does it suck?

Chakrabarti, a 39-year-old former tech worker and multi-millionaire, is best known as the former chief of staff to New York City Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who drew national attention after defeating 10-term incumbent Joe Crowley in 2018.
Among other priorities, Chakrabarti supports guaranteeing health care for all, making public colleges and trade schools tuition-free, taxing billionaires, banning the revolving door between Congress and the lobbying industry, prohibiting Congress members from trading stocks, and turning PG&E into a public utility to lower people’s utility bills.
All the people who trusted a social media company with their govt ID ^

Called it.

I almost made it to their bathroom. It was just to the right.

I swear it was an accident, I thought it was a fart.

That was me, sorry.

I think the root issue is more around the belief that US companies operate off of meritocracy.
I.E. only the most qualified and competent people make it to the top.

Don’t forget about “protecting children” to excuse mass surveillance and censorship initiatives.

I have always seen it as a “Perfection is the enemy of progress.” phrase.
I.E. Yes, that blue candidate is funded by target, but the red candidate will do so much worse things to the people.

Wait, trump lied!?!

:)

That was more of a juxtaposition of the example you gave of blocking = putting your head in the sand VS everyone’s opinion should be heard. My main point being that there is a happy medium between the two.
I probably should have phrased that differently, sorry.
