They have but the other components don’t cost much in comparison. You are pretty much buying memory and it happens to have a completed system attached.
Pi zero is still pretty cheap though. 512MB of memory should help keep that affordable.

Piracy is illegal and they are of course doing a great job at stopping that…

The open models aren’t controlled by them though.

More niche interests, less politics. A niche community could move to Lemmy instead of hosting their own forum for example. Either hosting their own instance or using an existing one.

I thought netanyahu still won, just the largest minority rather than an outright majority?
Not a massive fan of steak, not that I dislike it but it doesn’t seem special and as its so expensive I don’t buy it.
If I want to spend lots I would get a bunch of different types of cheese, biscuits and chutneys. But then I would also find it way too easy to eat in excess of 1000kcal as a snack so I don’t do that very often.
Maybe my standards are low, but I don’t really see the problem with fried beans and rice with veg like peas, sweetcorn, onions as a meal. Splash of something like soy sauce, hoisin, sweet chili jam or hot honey. Its delicious.
The rent is too damn high guy has a point. Lower housing costs and even if you change nothing else, cost of living becomes far easier to manage.
Well living on the south coast is more affordable than London, air is a bit cleaner too. Downside is lots of reform scum.
Council tax is something each household has to pay, houses are in different bands depending on their price in the 90s. Though the tax range is fairly narrow compared to the value range of houses. House could be 100x the cost of mine yet the tax would barely be 3x as much.
Those food prices sound interesting. In the UK its the reverse. Farmers markets cost a fortune but Aldi costs fuck all.
We are not being overly frugal with food and it still usually costs under £30/week for 2 of us. If we wanted to be frugal I would probably cut out the meat and cheese to replace with grains which would half our spending.
What does fixing the system look like though? Far too many people seem to just want to consume unsustainably and would do so even more if they could.
How much does someone need?
Yes, some at the bottom really should have more. But there are many in the middle who should consume less and will justify it by comparing to those at the top who are even worse.
UK, depends who you talk to. Russian bots would have you believe everything is falling apart. London is also really expensive.
I live on the south coast, even on minimum wage I have never struggled. As long as you can find stable employment you will have enough money to be comfortable. Honestly, I don’t even know what to spend my money on.
Approx monthly bills, 900 mortgage (fuck you Liz truss), 175 council tax, 80 electricity, 120 food, 22 internet. Water is on a 6 month cycle and costs some mid 2 figure number each time so that is barely anything.
So about 1300/month. That is for 2 of us, £650/month each, or £7800/year. Minimum wage is about £25k.
Used mssql-server at work where we usually use windows and its a bit shit if you want low memory hosting. Though when I have run MySQL I haven’t tested low resource systems to compare that either tbh.

I meant physical stock rather than stock market. If you could sell a graphics card today for £1k but it looks like if you wait it will be worth less then you will want to try and sell it before it drops.
Plus over time newer hardware comes out which is faster and then your existing stock becomes worth less due to having to compete with the new stuff. You bought all this stock and you want to make a profit or keep losses down.
Can’t you run Apache on pretty old hardware? I thought it was something you could happily run on even some of the older versions of raspberry pi. Probably depends on what you are hosting on it of course.

Not a bad idea, but as I mostly like making my own so my collection currently is about 15 bottles of plum mead, couple apple mead and a couple of cider.

What about when they know their stock is losing value
Kinda want a low lower draw device to use as a server, ideally proxmox and just backup the whole VM image once its setup. But not sure how much I would really use. Very basic Apache/php, pihole, not sure if there is too much else.
Maybe factorio servers if I get into clusterIO stuff again.

Not the same day sure, but I’d the market crashes then its reasonable to expect it to drop at some point.
But we do own RAM, do they plan to buy all of it indefinitely? All sorts of other businesses still need computers so they will be buying them even if they cost more, and when they replace them the old ones can be sold off.
There is even the possibility of crowd sourced AI, I know AI horde exists although I think its pretty small and I haven’t touched it in a few years now.
