Linux@programming.dev•macOS 26 introduces the Containerization Framework: "enables developers to create, download, or run Linux container images directly on Mac"English
2·11 months agoWine is successful because of the decades of work put into it. For Darling to reach that level of support it would need a herculean amount of effort as well.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Best web archiving software for complex sites and sites requiring logins?English
92·1 year agoFor instance, I can’t download completely youtube pages with videos using wget, but can with pywb (though pywb has issues with sites like reddit).
Not that I would necessarily use it for youtube pages, but that’s an example of a complex page with lots of AJAX.

Linux@programming.dev•Has anyone else questioned their choice of computers for running Linux?English

I use Kitty and didn’t find much in the documentation tbh.

Linux@programming.dev•How have influencers impacted the software world?English
1·1 year agoDepends on the Software. For instance, does Autodesk have more tutorial videos than FreeCAD because it’s used more, or is it used more because there are more tutorials?
To answer a question like this, a graph of users over time would be helpful, or at least knowing when the software became very popular, then figure out what happened in that time period.

You need to explain exactly what the last one means, and how it compares to similar software.
