a ram drive is volatile memory. you can get higher performance out of DRAM chips attached to the CPU memory controller, versus putting them behind the PCIe bus using NVME. for applications that only work with file systems, a RAM drive works around that limitation. so, why bother?

There are many places on Earth where DNS servers have high latency, low bandwidth, and intermittent connectivity, yet still function fine. It’s already a solved problem.
Nothing would stop you from running a DNS server on Mars and handling requests locally.
How would you even know it’s internal only without testing? No doctor worth their salt would tell you that without tests. You should really see an allergist to cover the basics.
