True, accomodations that fit everyone must be made, but they shouldn’t consider a natural reaction to being neurodivergent a “bad habit to quit”.
But does it, in the end, take less effort than constantly fighting yourself?
Life isn’t a choice between easy and hard, it’s mostly a choice between hard now or way harder later.
If you want your mind blown, it’s because of lenses.
Most cameras show you a version of yourself that others are not actually seeing when they look at you.
And mirrors aren’t the same either… You look better in higher quality mirrors.

Hope is an attempt to fight off the idea of hopelesness, which is itself an illusion. So hope is not only an illusion in the second degree, but the very thing that keeps hopelessness from being exposed. It is no wonder that Hope was the greatest curse to escape Pandora’s Box.
For me it’s been the opposite, the less I mask the more I actually end up with people and in environments where I am accepted and cherished for the person I am, not who I force myself to be to fit in. Trying to do that nearly killed me.
