Maximize your chances to get through the automated bullshit. Once you get through the bullshit you can find out what the job really requires and showcase skills. As is most FOSS software. I’m not sure what point you are trying to make. GadgetBridge is actively working on the feature and I’m genuinely excited about it.

I didn’t realize there was a Doom package for NextCloud. I’m not even sure why I was surprised.

I’m currently using NextCloud + Davx5 + Tasks.org and am quite satisfied. I think it supports basically everything you are asking for. I’ve also toyed with jtx Board but Tasks.org felt cleaner. I always manage my tasks on my phone, but I know the tasks show up in Thunderbird desktop. Not sure about the functionality though.

I disagree on both of those. One off scripts are generally low value. I’ve probably written tens of thousands of lines of bash, but I still look up syntax every time because I purge the low value info when I’m done.

And autocomplete is exactly there for boilerplate and obvious code. There is ALWAYS a need for that code. Trying to abstract away all duplication will often burn a lot of new brain cycles for both the original engineer and the next engineer that has to maintain it. Sometimes the straightforward code is the best code. And that isn’t even touching on bootstrapping a new project which will necessarily require a lot of that basic repetitive code.

I’m still an AI skeptic and anti-AI, but you can be opposed to something while still recognizing it’s use.

I’ve used it for a few years and it is an excellent application. I used Synology Photos for about a day before moving on.

Yeah, I use VaultWarden for my passwords, but Bitwarden for secret management. There are a lot options for secret management. If necessary I could just host OpenBao on my NAS.

The Bitwarden news is really disappointing. I thought they were me of the “good guys” but it seems that was only the first phase of enshittification. I quite like their services but I’m starting to make my migration plans. 1password seems pretty reputable and their prices are relatively stable.

Shouldn’t be hard to always return the Unix epoch, timestamp 0. That should just be the default.

If you want robust (and a ton to learn) go with k3s for a lightweight Kubernetes deployment and FluxCD.

If you want simpler go with docker-compose and doco-cd.

With a GitOps workflow you define it all in files in a bit repo then the server automatically deploys and updates. IMHO its much easier to maintain long term than click ops.
