That’s a fair argument, but you do have to balance it with words actually having meaning. Like if people started saying Barbie hot pink aesthetic is “goth” then the word just wouldn’t be useful to use.

And were not talking about regional variation of sushi or pizza were talking about anytime a person wearing black being called goth, so it would be like any dish with rice in it being called sushi or anything with mozzarella and tomato in it a pizza.

The simplist explanation is it’s just a music subculture, but in reality it’s a bit more than that and goth fashion has become it’s own thing. But that fashion isn’t merely someone wearing a black top and dark makeup. It’s more of a sort of Victorian style usually with like corsets and stuff
