How efficient! Why didn’t we think of this before? We can make vitamin B12 inside our bodies, but instead of just retaining it, we’ll make it so that it has to be shit out first then and re-ingested to be absorbed. Perfect!

Awesome work. Stuff like this is what makes selfhosted the best community on lemmy!

My god this video is 14 years old and still just as relevant. I love the bit at the end
“Next week we’ll be talking about BodyDoo, the popular new device that links with your iPhone to post all of your bodily functions right to facebook”

This is really great (and by great I mean terrifying to see it all laid out plainly). The only nitpick is the idea that the model “is coming to europe next” … as if this whole thing wasn’t kicked off by Brexit and the Cambridge Analytica scandal. Europe was the testing bed for this a decade or more ago.

Excellent, insightful comment and I very much appreciate and resonate with this response.
I do think the protest serves to raise awareness, even if it’s a bit extreme. The desired effect is not really to encourage the complete rejection of tech, but bring attention to the issues and get the average person to think a little more about their usage of it. I’m actually kind of proud of these young folks for being able to snap themselves out of the social media-induced hypnotic state their generation seems to be stuck in.

He goes on to say
[Americans] were born into democracy and have no appreciation of what life is like without it. Chinese people, on the other hand, “have been bullied by rulers for thousands of years. We’re very familiar with these situations.”
Buddy that looks worse for you. The Chinese have been dealing with it for thousands of years but haven’t managed to do anything about it? If this was some kind of flex, it’s a weird one.

Completely agree and thank you for saying exactly what needs to be said. I oftwn ask how did we get here? This timeline is so far off from the one I came to expect even like 10 years ago. How do we get back to a more stable, less angry society?

Love the creativity here. If it works, it works!

I think it’ll make a comeback eventually. LLMs will get progressively less useful as a replacement as its’ training data stales. Without refreshed data it’s going to be just as irrelevant as the years go on. Where will it get data about new programming languages or solutions to problems in new software? LLM knowledge will be stuck in 2025 unless new training material is given to it.

Dude Harvard didn’t even stand up to defend their own president Claudine Gay when she needed their backing. They were dead silent during trumps first term when this same shit was going on. It’s not just the money. They will literally sit on their asses and say nothing unless they are pushed.
100% agree. Why are people like this?

I’d love to see this but her chances are likely worse than Harris. And that’s assuming we have an honest election in '28.

Yep. The only real election fuckery is fox news, christianity and russia poisoning people’s minds.

Agree. The “lesson-teaching” mindset has got to end.

Dude, she had like 100 days to put together a campaign. She had to make a gamble and trust that the 2020 Dem voters were already in her corner so she could go after some big fish with the little time she had.
