This isn’t the first time I’ve encountered an extremely pointed line of code in piefed meant to fuck over one person specifically. It’s very concerning now that it’s a pattern.

No shit. It’s meant to be funny. It’s close enough to the same thing without being the same thing that it is absurd. Absurdity is a form of humour. I think if you went into this assuming it was funny rather than assuming it was misogynistic, you’d have come to a different conclusion.

A good chunk of the population is very challenged by such delicate social distinctions. Like upwards of a third. And even among the rest, everyone’s going to draw the line differently. These bright line rules you believe in don’t exist for most people.

Labeling it as a “negative emotion” does not prevent any of those things. I really don’t understand the argument you are trying to make. It’s a perfectly reasonable description.

Fuck. Bike helmets do not protect you from automobile collisions. They are fucking styrofoam. They protect you from falling over while standing still. THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE LITERALLY DESIGNED FOR. If you want protection from automobiles, you need a motorcycle helmet or a helmet as worn by race drivers. A bike helmet won’t do shit, isn’t designed to do shit in that situation. You’re just being superstitious.

That’s just not true. Riding a bike is not only extremely safe, the risks are offset by the benefits such that it provides a net benefit to your health and safety. Even if you do not wear a helmet, cycling is still a net benefit to your survival and lifespan.

It’s far from impossible. For example, carnism is a (typically unconscious and unexamined) belief system held by the vast majority of people, and it says animal exploitation, and cruelty and violence against animals can be neutral or even good.

No, you should abandon plastic recycling and concentrate on the other two Rs. Plastic recycling isn’t a real thing, it’s just a way to manipulate you into unsustainable and irresponsible consumption.

And if you can go meatless mondays, you can stop being cruel and violent every day.

How would it? Just because they have an insane idea doesn’t mean A actually does lead to B.

It’s true but irrelevant. Just because your brain has not finished maturing doesn’t mean you cannot paint a fence, built a house, write a book, fly a helicopter, or have an actual fully mature adult relationship with another human being. That helps contextualize negative emotions, but it’s still totally fair to describe “emotions that aren’t fun” as negative emotions. And there certainly are emotions based in pathology and even pathological forms of grief.

Oh, and LSD is huge for me when I need to accept something I’m unhappy about. Acceptance is the hardest part and the biggest obstacle to healing.

It’s a lot like a broken bone. Once the immediately urgent parts are dealt with, all you can really do is wait and try not to do things that inhibit healing. Try to just have faith that you will heal the wound, in some capacity.
