We are being governed by the worst among us
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Do-gooder_derogation
If someone else is doing something good and you’re not, it’s easier to lash out at them than accept that you’re not a flawless person. Since veganism often has a moral dimension (eg: cruelty to animals, environmental damage), some people struggle with this. They want to be good people, but eating meat is being cast as bad. Thus, lash out at whatever’s making them feel bad.

Guy is a dangerous idiot. You should always use protection.

I think I had a small amount of alcohol at weddings and new years celebrations when I was a teenager.
My parents don’t have the healthiest relationship with alcohol. it’s not the worst, but it never seemed cool or fun. It was just dad having a few cheap beers while watching the game. They never told me not to drink, either. No “forbidden fruit” allure.
I don’t intentionally consume caffeine. No coffee. Only herbal tea. No energy drinks. There might be some in chocolate, but I don’t eat much chocolate.
When I was a kid my whole family were like coffee fiends. Couldn’t get going without a cup. I never wanted to be like that.

In America, we resolve our political differences at the ballot box,
Do we though?

I really would like less news coverage of trump supporters. Their opinions are bad. I’d like the news media to focus on humanizing everyone else.

All tools are not equally safe nor should they all be publicly available.
A chainsaw is a tool that you might cause harm with if you use it in stupid ways. We don’t give chainsaws out to children. We don’t use chainsaws for cutting dinner.
There are human elements to the problem but that’s not a big reveal.

Revoke their license. Scale fines with wealth. Mandate thousands of hours of community service for speeders. Don’t just do nothing and hope it sorts itself out.

These things should probably be banned, and Facebook dissolved with its leadership punished for their crimes.
I dislike postman. I see job postings that are like “MUST KNOW POSTMAN”. Fuck, people should know how to make API requests but postman isn’t the only tool for that.
Furthermore, if I’m doing automated tests to run on PR I’m not going to use a GUI. Pytest or jest or whatever testing library your language has.
I did use Bruno for a while for convenience during local development, though.
Hm maybe I’ll try that. Looks like there’s an android version

I think a lot about how one time we spent s few hours estimating how long a project would take. Management came back and said no, that’s too long, we’d need to finish in a month.
Well if that’s how long it has to take why not lead with that?
Bunch of idiot empty husks doing cargo-cult “agile”
Firefox. It’s fine. The ai stuff is concerning , but nothing’s caused me enough pain to switch yet

Seems fair. Was a pretty big fuck up. Might deter others from making similar fuck ups.

That was always a bad idea and feeds my mild Cassandra complex.
No government should be relying on private platforms like that.

The suits at Microsoft are out of their fucking minds.
Yes. They are stupid and don’t deserve their huge paychecks.
They could’ve done basically nothing. Maybe security updates. And they would’ve had a decent brand that kept bringing in money. Their leadership is worse than doing nothing. A dog would make a better ceo.

We need more than resignation. We need real punishments.
Freedom of speech doesn’t mean a guaranteed audience or platform.
You can write whatever you want. No one is required to read it. No one is required to host it. If they do read it, they can say whatever they want about it.
This is the fediverse. You can host your own instance and say whatever you want. No one else is required to federate with you.
If you post something and people say it’s garbage, that’s not your freedom of speech being quashed. You spoke. Now they are using their freedom of speech in response.
