Death is light as a feather
Duty heavy as a mountain
No scratches seems crazy to me, I purposely carry nothing else in the pocket with my phone but they always end up with scratches.
The numbers come from an overly simple way to level out trade deficits.
So if I sell you $100 in goods and you sell me $120 dollars in goods, I’m “losing” money, therefore 20% tariff (tax to sell me something). In reality, you’re going to increase your prices and sell me $140 worth of the same stuff.
All the AIs did was expand this to a global scale, what’s insane to me is that the math adds up. It doesn’t take an AI to do this though, some economics undergrad could come up with the same thing. Understanding the underlying methodology shows how it completely lacks nuance or understanding of how the world really works.
I tend to leave holes in drywall at the slightest provocation, so it just kinda fit.
It’s terrifying that this is plausible.
My guess is that they’re doing it in waves. I’ve been hearing about it removed for weeks, only happened to me a few days ago.
Honestly I’m just sad we already had a program like this. I didn’t read the NYT article but ones from NPR and AP, didn’t go into much detail about the existing one.
Idk, maybe if the money went to approved charities or cancer research foundations? Instead of a business for jobs, which isn’t inherently bad, but easily exploitable. I’m guessing this new system will be worse and have fewer restrictions.
And if the kids take it home to those at risk?
Tiniest thing imaginable
I hate that it doesn’t have some key features, like the ability to easily annotate on the screen as a viewer. The presenter (host?) must allow it first, which for me often results in frustration as I try to guide them to the top tool bar to find it.
They also don’t have custom emojis like my beloved Slack. And dear god Teams sends you a desktop notification every time someone reacts with an emoji, I disabled that quick.
I also hated how they did groups/channels, also called Teams, a name I hate (why have a feature with the same name as your product?). It was like a shitty forum board, where someone would post a topic and everyone commented underneath it, made it impossible to scroll through. They changed it recently though for a much more user friendly UI.
My favorite Teams feature is that I can mute other participants on a meeting. I can feel the Thrill course through me every time.
Currently have a great-grandmother at 102. She still lives by herself, with people stopping by and checking on her most days of the week. Someone drives her to a quilting club every week, she doesn’t have the dexterity to sew anymore but lines up tiles for the others lol.
LBJ had a special button installed that would summon someone to bring him a Fresca.
100% agree, it’s hot garbage. I have no idea how it’s lasted
Pretty much just MS Dynamics. Or you build your own, that’s common too.
There are others, Zendesk has a CRM, some use ServiceNow or Hubspot but those don’t fit the same use case.
Saved me a watch too, thanks!
It’s for teenage suicide prevention. Which makes the sex thing worse.
What does “legally required” here mean? I assume there’s supposed to be a punishment?
