6·2 years agoMaybe they fear switch 2 sales would plummet if emulation and PC handhelds stick around when they launch. I disagree coz the two attract different kinds of gamers, but they aren’t cool like that.

Technology@lemmy.world•AMD announces unified UDNA GPU architecture — bringing RDNA and CDNA together to take on Nvidia's CUDA ecosystemEnglish
8·2 years agoWhen AMD moved on from its GCN microarchitecture back in 2019, the company decided to split its new graphics microarchitecture into two different designs, with RDNA designed to power gaming graphics products for the consumer market while the CDNA architecture was designed specifically to cater to compute-centric AI and HPC workloads in the data center.
I wonder if CDNA will be more akin to Tensor Cores on RTX GPUs, leading to better ray tracing performance of gaming.

politics @lemmy.world•Why Xi wants Trump to win. A second Trump term would allow China to cement its grip on the developing world.
1·3 years agoWhy is the world becoming dumber? Doesn’t the right want America to be the best and China to lose? Similarly why are other countries favouring the right and just wasting away precious time and resources over issues that were solved decades ago and require basic elementary school logic to understand?
I really think people in 2050s will mock 2020s as the lethally stupid era of the century.
