I think Mother Nature may vote against him in 2028.

Gavin Newsom is not honest about his positions.

It’s possible that the United States itself could collapse, and that democracy could exist in some form of whatever came after.
But in the United States as it exists now? It’s not even the same country.

Thank God! I am sure this will be used fairly.
I remember when I was in school that the schools always punished the bully instead of the bullied person who reacted.

It is vitally important for people to collect the things he’s mandating be removed and to hide them so they can be maintained for the future.
We are all Anne Frank now.

It is ABSOLUTELY possible.
At this point, we need to stop listening to ANYONE who says it’s impossible.
What is NOT possible is sustaining the current system as it currently functioning.
Literally anyone can look at the current system and identify that it can’t continue to function in this way. And I’m not arguing that people will say that it’s too cruel to continue. I’m saying that regardless of whether anyone is working to try to change the system, it’s just not logistically possible for things to continue functioning the way they’ve been functioning. The population doesn’t have any more to give, but the wealthy demand more profits and profits at an increasing break.
We are at a breaking point with or without people trying to break anything.

At this point, there is no justification for privatized control of the means of production.
Especially for AI.
When the purpose of a technology is to remove the ability to work from as many people as possible, there is no valid reason for that technology to in any way benefit individuals without first benefitting those whose jobs it destroys.
The wealthy are literally job destroyers. That is what they actually are.

You’re incorrect.
Wealth is not how much passes through your fingers.
It’s how much you get to keep.
Slavery is not being denied the ability to earn. It is being denied the ability to save.
Lower-class people in the United States may in fact have quite a bit of money passing through their fingers at any given moment, but the way that financial systems are structured in the United States, those people are not beneficiaries of those funds, but merely vessels from which each and every cent must be extracted. No money is left at the end of the month, after rents, health insurance, transportation, the absurd costs of food, et cetera.
No, on the contrary, these people do NOT fit the criteria for being rich. They lack ownership of everything, and are paid a wage that is intentionally set lower than their actual living expenses. The fact that their wages may be deceptively high is LITERALLY a sign of deception and not in fact a sign that they get to keep any of that money.
The war is ABSOLUTELY between the wealthy and the poor within each country.
It is pretty freakin laughable to claim that the wealthy in the United States and the poor in the United States are on the same side of this conflict. The poor in the United States are the most direct victims of exploitation by the wealthy in the United States(and not to say that the poor in other countries are not also extremely exploited, but the poor in the United States are the ones the wealthy in the United States have direct knowledge of inflicting pain upon).

It has always astounded me that penalties to companies are almost always either a tiny fraction or the ill-gotten gains, or at most the total amount of the ill-gotten gains.
I’m like NO! How about TEN TIMES the ill-gotten gains? Or literally some amount which is so much it’s going to hurt the company. Like 25-50% of the value of the whole company?
And if that sounds like it’s too much because the company would have trouble surviving, THAT’S THE POINT!

Within the last two years, I’ve seen a lot of people outside of the United States saying that what’s happening IS the fault of all people in the U.S., and that “You voted for this,” or at least that we didn’t work hard enough to prevent it from happening.
And I have spent SOOOOOO much effort trying to tell them.
I’VE BEEN ALIVE SINCE BEFORE THE FALL OF THE BERLIN WALL, AND THE UNITED STATES HAS NEVER BEEN A DEMOCRACY FOR AT LEAST AS LONG AS I’VE BEEN ALIVE!
The choice between the Democrats and the Republicans and every election I’ve ever seen is functionally the equivalent of being presented a ballot that says:
How do you want to be raped in the ass?
- WITH lube
- WITHOUT lube
If you look at California, the Democrats have a LITERAL SUPERMAJORITY in California’s legislature, something like 2/3 or 3/4, and they STILL declined to move forward on universal healthcare coverage:
The Republicans actually govern. They do it with negative intentions toward the population.
The Democrats ALWAYS refuse to do ANYTHING meaningful, claiming that doing anything meaningful would prevent them from getting elected again.
ALMOST ALL politicians having significant power in the United States are either Donald Trump, bought and paid for by billionaires, or are bought and paid for by Israel. And I am not referring to Jewish people. I mean Israel, the country itself. Just the country.
The Democrats are controlled opposition. It is when you have a dictatorship which wants to pretend its a democracy, so it creates a party to act like opposition. But you can identify owned opposition by the fact that THEY NEVER DO ANYTHING EVEN WHEN THEY SEEM TO HAVE POWER, and EVERYONE’S BAFFLED AS TO WHY.

What part of him stopping 8 wars did you not understand?
The jobs.
I hope they cut the jobs.

It would be a real shame if one of them were to read this discussion and get the idea to do something like that guy in the toilet paper factory setting his workplace on fire.

“Cursor, generate a script to uninstall Cursor and all support files and settings.”

If you want to know how horrible of a person Dave Chappelle is, he thinks that this is redeeming for him.
You’re treating scientific uncertainty as if it means “anything is possible.” It doesn’t.
Except I’m not.
I am treating things as if we are a species who barely has enough knowledge to send a small group of individuals off of the planet, and I am stating that while humanity seems to have a fairly okay ability to do that(and barely get to the next rock over), we probably shouldn’t be speaking with the confidence as if we wrote our masters thesis on interstellar travel. The moment humans stop having tons of massive scientific discoveries about space travel every year, that’s the point that we might have a good argument that it’s impossible for someone to escape a particular planet.
At this point, we can’t even confidently say that we know what that planet is like. Hell, up until recently, they believed that planet couldn’t even support life.
I am not questioning the laws of physics.
I am questioning that humans’ understanding of them is complete.
But you go on with your bad self, with your complete assurance that nothing will ever get off of that planet. The good news is that both of us will be dead before anyone even gets to know that it’s been tried.

Actually, I think it could be something more sinister.
IF his identity was real and he actually existed and he was up there with a gun, I don’t think he ever had any intention of doing what the claim says he was trying to do. On the other hand, I wouldn’t put it past the reasoning of right-wingers to either stage the whole thing, or for a lone right-wing kid to intentionally go there and aim for the person behind Trump, with the intention of making it look like what it’s been sold as.
The kid could have thought “If I just do this, Trump will win, I guarantee it,” and he could have been expecting that he (the shooter) wouldn’t be making it out, but would have glory in assuring that Trump was elected.
I don’t know exactly what happened in this situation, but I do know that ears don’t heal in the way Trump’s ear looks.

Well DUH.
Thanks for catching up to the rest of us, MAGA!
Ears don’t heal themselves like that.
Extra AIR?!
Sounds horrifying!
