They would say that this helps the average citizen by preventing it from being okay to be trans in American society which has benefits like:

• Preventing your kids from becoming trans

…and so on. These are almost exactly the same prejudiced justifications used in the past against gay rights in America.

In this new round of American-style fascism, our government has been coerced into being taken over by an extreme right-wing contingent of American political life: Christian nationalists, white nationalists, neo-liberal economic extremists (which used to be called plain old conservative economics), conspiracy theorists, and narcissists. These people have an extreme and unbalanced worldview that flows from their political, economic, social, and emotional wants and needs instead of the fundamental human rights of citizens in a democracy.

Beyond the sociopolitical convenience of having a group to scapegoat and channel political action against, there is a genuine conservative hate for those that do not conform to general conceptions of gender and sexuality. To conservatives, you’re either in or out - with us, or against us, and the people that make them feel weird about sex and gender are easy to exclude. That trans people are human and have rights and live under a democratic government with equal protection under the law becomes harder to integrate into conservative thinking than simply hating them and the accompanying societal norms.

The only thing worse than the pure, unfiltered cynicism and self-hatred it takes to use this tactic on your own people, is that it is somehow effective.

Our nation is arguing with a delusional narcissist about who fucked up a pool job after his no-bid contract with a two-bit coatings company botched a cheaped-out installation. Besides being perfectly emblematic of the current state of our government, it forms a perfect distraction for both the president and the people from the dismantling of democracy.

• The surveillance society and infrastructure is built.

• The concentration camps are built.

• The police state is built.

The comments of the new CDC Head spell out in plain terms that the bottom line for the anti-abortion political stance is sexual control. These people absolutely cannot stand sexual freedom, and consequence-free or harm-reduced sexuality. To them, sexual pleasure is a societal resource to be managed, policed, capitalized, and bestowed to the socially “worthy”.

I am convinced that policing access to abortion care is a form of sexual abuse because of the inevitable consequences those policies impose:

• It demonizes and punishes sexuality and sexual autonomy under implicit threat of possible injury or death from lack of medical care.

• It exerts sociopolitical leverage over a person by legislating their internal and automatic biological functions of sexuality and pregnancy, for the nebulous whims of people they will never even meet.

• It forces victims of rape to consider and be subject to their rapists’ control long after the assault has been committed, including custody disputes or forced child rearing if a pregnancy is carried to term.

• It subjects women and females to invasive surveillance, de-facto suspicion, and financial burdens that restrict freedom of movement, living conditions, and quality of life.

• It endorses and normalizes a toxic and fear-based culture that enthusiastically spreads false and coercive information about complex, private, and deeply personal issues.

These are all aspects of the tactics that sexual abusers use to abuse, rape, control, and extract economic and social control over their victims. Any philosophy that brutalizes and discards the rights of a person for the crime of becoming pregnant has no place in civilized society.

Their fancy new AI can go rogue, escape containment, and hack other companies. But surely, this advanced technology can’t be applied moderate Facebook ads!

What am I talking about? None of that will happen of course, that would be insane! Let’s just continue on as if everything is normal, because that’s what this is now. This is what’s normal in a world with the Meta corporation.

In the laudable goal of dismantling of western hegemony, .ml and Russia are certainly having an effect. However, it’s quite clear to me that a Marxist-Leninist alternative is not the goal.

The problem I see is that they’re working to simply replace one imperialist system with another. If in the work of dismantling American hegemony they serve to support a Soviet-style dictator’s hegemony, its just the same imperialism using Marxist-Leninism as the justification instead of “democracy” and “capitalism”. Furthermore, supporting MAGA as a vehicle to weaponize US incompetence is still supporting an authoritarian president, even if it effectively shrinks American hegemony.

This is the same Cold War of constructed ideologies we’ve been fighting since the end of WWII, it is just that America has been ahead until now. Us vs. Them; America in the Middle East, Russia in Eastern Europe, China in the Pacific, Vietnam, Korea, etc. It’s just empires snatching up vassals and exploiting influence. The only difference is that in the US, we use the veneer of elections to “legitimize” it.

I cannot claim to be impartial or innocent of this, but I still think it’s disingenuous to misrepresent the philosophy of Marxist-Leninism to in-effect support yet another imperialist and authoritarian system just like the US does with democracy, and that support is all I ever see from the users and communities of ML. Although I’m sure ML can say the same thing, which seems to be how we ended up here.

American religion, politics, economics, and ecology are reaching the limits of an unsustainable system that only knows how to extract wealth and power. The Soviet Union collapsed for similar reasons. Above all, that form of government collapsed under the weight of propping up The Party’s false reality and its debts to the truth. Real operating principles flow from hard-learned evidence, experience, and wisdom. Societies simply cannot operate indefinitely from convoluted principals engineered to benefit only the few. This is the flaw in the philosophy behind modern conservatism - it’s fundamentally abusive.

People stick with the devils they know. When long-term planning is negated by the cognitive load of navigating abuse, it can be almost impossible to adapt to new sustainable modes of thinking and living. When the house of cards collapses, those unable to adapt cannot be saved.
