Recent celebration comparing shipments of heat pumps and gas furnaces might be premature. What equipment do people actually use to heat their homes?

So our house came with a gas furnace, but no AC.

So I can either continue limping along with our 3 window AC units, add an AC to the furnace, or add a heat pump.

Honestly not sure where to go with this.

This site says heat pumps work from -22F to 115F:

    https://sealed.com/resources/heat-pump-cooling-in-hot-weather/

This one says -13F to 90F.

    https://aquariushomeservices.com/blog/heat-pump-temperature-range/

I’m less concerned about the heating aspect than I am the cooling aspect. If it can’t cool down the house once it hits 90°, when we need the cooling most, then what’s the point?

Heat pumps are fine at cooling. At least as good as an AC. Call up an HVAC company with experience in heat pumps, and I’m sure they’ll have several options that will work in your climate.
