In the pro version of Win 11 when it asks you to sign in, it’s still possible to select:
- Set up for work or school
- Next
- Sign-in options (very small link)
- Domain join instead
Then it lets you to add a local account. Knowing MS, they probably will prevent this too soon.
If they get rid of domain join there will be an uproar. I also think government orgs will still be using domains for a while.
But will Microsoft listen to foreign governments?
It’s not clear if the US will have government agencies for much longer.
Just prep work for the subscription based Windows.
Let’s just make and share one Microsoft account. So they’d have exactly one user with 4M desktop installs
Or drop Windows.
Frustratingly, that would also mean dropping at least one of my favorite games rn.
I’m very much considering dual booting defaulting to Linux whenever Win10 support is properly dropped.
Doesn’t run on Proton?
The dev refuses to let the anti cheat work on Linux.
Good luck enforcing this on enterprise editions
Everything you do will be tracked.
My new work laptop i couldn’t work out how to set it up without signing into Windows.
It just had sign in or create account.
I switched to Linux about two months ago, never looked back.
