Evangelicals (who are massive Trumpers) are pro-Israel because a Jewish state is part of their end times beliefs (not to be confused with anything found in the Bible). They hate Jews otherwise.

In looking up a link, I see they indeed were drawing from Old Testament scripture to build their end times claims. I was told all this by a childhood friend whose church was teaching it. He was not shy about what happens to the Jews the minute Christ returns (they die first). Israel being established is part of the claims, but the next step is rebuilding the Temple. The Temple site is located on the spot where The Dome of the Rock sits. So it’ll be a problem to rebuild…

This is their go-to. Do the exact opposite of the thing you’re saying you’re doing (because you know it’s what your base wants to hear).
They know that these people will just believe it and never actually check (or if they do, not believe the reality).
