Summary
Stephen Miller, former Trump advisor, called birthright citizenship a “financial scam” and national security threat during a Newsmax appearance.
He claimed, without evidence, that undocumented immigrants exploit it to access “unlimited welfare” and that foreign governments use it for espionage.
The Supreme Court will soon hear a case related to Trump’s executive order challenging birthright citizenship.
Miller dismissed the 14th Amendment’s intent, ratified in 1869 to reverse Dred Scott, and echoed extremist views like “remigration,” advocating for the forced removal of non-European immigrants regardless of citizenship.
Even if he did have “evidence” of that somehow it doesn’t matter, that wouldn’t undo the CONSTITUTION! The 14th amendment seems to be the antithesis of the current administration. It covers birth right citizenship, representative voting, banning criminals and traitors from being president (No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability) that we don’t use taxes to pay for treasonous acts and that congress has the power to enforce all of these things!
The 14th amendment is extremely dangerous to the Trump administration in many ways… unless of course congress never steps up.
