She reveals that one thing she and Soong couldn’t possibly have anticipated was that Data didn’t mind being naked, although some of the colonists certainly did as he is anatomically correct. The Soongs asked him to dress, but he didn’t feel it was necessary as he didn’t “suffer from the elements.” With a laugh, Juliana concludes that they had to resort to writing a modesty subroutine just so Data would keep his clothes on.
Fun fact: Odo runs around naked 100% of the time.
When you stop to think about it, we are all naked in front of the eyes of the Prophets, my child
Doesn’t Odo lose his *surprising ability for part of the show? I imagine he had to start wearing clothes.
Edit: *shapeshifting… I feel like autocorrect made the sentence better. I like it and it kind of works so I’m leaving it.
Yes; he said that the real clothes itched, and Garak said that’s the wool, you’ll get used to it.
“surprising ability” haha. I love that autocorrect.
Edited, lol. Autocorrect actually did me a favor this time.
As was Anya in The Dauphin
Wesley noticed.
They should have raised him on a nudist colony. With all the other whacky “human” colonies out there I bet at least one of them hangs dong all day long.
“People will be naked in the future and no one will care” was such a common sci-fi trope by the 1980s that I’m actually surprised they didn’t have censor-friendly naked people on TNG at times.
I’m talking…
Is that Blake’s 7?
When he lets one nipple out it means he’s in the mood.
Fionnula Flanagan … one of my favorite Irish actresses, she’s amazing.
Played in my favorite Irish film … Waking Ned Divine
I was totally blown away when I realized I had already seen her in TNG years before when I first saw ‘Waking Ned Divine’
Waking Ned Divine is amazing. I love the movie and it had my favorite version of The Parting Glass on its score.
I saw that film in the theater and I have to say I remember absolutely nothing about it. I do remember it reminded me of the Welsh comedy, The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill but Came Down a Mountain.
If you haven’t seen it, you should look up: The Secret of Roan Inish
I haven’t. Thanks. I admit, I haven’t seen a huge number of Irish films, looking at a list of Wikipedia films. I’ve seen some of the big ones like The Commitments, My Left Foot and Michael Collins, but that’s about it.
Edit: Oh wait, that’s the selkie film. I have seen it.
It took an arrest and restraining order to get me to stop so in comparison data was already being modest
Why did they give an information robot genitals?
If you’re gong to make a robot you might as well make one that fucks.
Mostly so that they could come up with an excuse for him and Tasha to bump uglies.
