Vance and Mamdani are equal citizens under the law, but the vice president seems to believe that his heritage entitles him to speak in ways that Mamdani can’t. There are tiers of belonging, according to Vance, one for those who can trace their lineage to one of the nation’s two founding revolutions and another for those who can’t.

For Vance, this is something close to common sense. And for some Americans it was, before the Civil War.

    I don’t think we should treat people differently based on who their ancestors were or what they believed; that’s the difference between right and left.

      I think we absolutely should when they specifically bring it up in an attempt to invalidate an entire other human beings citizenship. Just saying be nice and don’t judge sounds nice until you realize you are losing from inaction.

        I never said “be nice and don’t judge.” I’m saying to judge the individual, not their family history.

        Take a look through my comments, you’ll see a hell of a lot of judgement.
