I’d say the existence of Musk and Murdoch are still reason enough that it’s still useful. No reason to make it easier on foreign elements, this at least makes them work for it. Seriously consider how lucky they were with Trump at damned near any stage he could’ve fucked up and gotten himself killed, imprisoned, or otherwise incapacitated yet he didn’t. Though knowing Soviet and by extension Russian tactics it was probably more a shit wall situation.
