No no no you’re misreading it. See they have a lot of love for each other, but Spock thinks McCoy is “too human” and McCoy knows Spock is too human for his own liking. Anytime he gets Spock riled up it just proves his point.

“Having it out” would be hugely embarrassing for Spock.

Spock’s best play is to zing McCoy before the credits roll.
