    Feels like a hit piece on degrowth.

    They eventually admit:

    Unlike typical degrowthers—with their focus on long-term human flourishing and the conservation of the planetary ecosystem—Trump is engaged in financial nihilism.

    So why try to apply the label? Hoping MAGA will flinch?

      Because the neoliberals must continue to edge their psuedo-intellecutalism kink, it’s all they’ve got left, knowing fancy words, bloviating about them, and then finally admitting the whole excersize was meaningless intellectual masturbation.

      Why do they do this?

      Its the Atlantic.

      They have an apparently terminal case of false moral and intellectual superiority.

      They’re just giving hoity toity types the script for a thought excercise version of an argument they theoretically could have with a MAGA, if only the MAGA was sufficiently educated and well mannered.
