    have you ever tried to browse with JS turned off?? backwards compatibility has been completely fucking lost on the modern web.

    its all about that market capture/tracking.

      Last week I tried setting up a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W for some basic fiddling around. Four 1 GHz Cortex A53 cores can surely handle and basic task thrown at them, and sure 512 MiB shared SRAM isn’t a lot these days, but it’s ample for a basic Linux installation!

      Then I tried browsing even the most basic websites, and they brought it to its fucking knees because every single fucking website is a 1 GB JavaScript App now.

      Remember when servers served content? Now they just send you a monstrous pile of shitty scripts and say “here, you do it.” What a fucking joke.
