I haven’t hit that but if it’s anything like phones and laptops, the batteries will hit a point of unreliability where it says 80%/200km but it plummets as the BMS just doesn’t understand what’s going on, and real range is closer to 100km - but because the gauge is broken, range anxiety is justified.
I hope that isn’t the case! I use my EV for small trips, so I expect to keep it on the road for at least 10 years and hopefully longer. Just hope the rust doesn’t destroy it.
Just an anecdote but a friend has an early nissan leaf. Its range is well less than 100km now, but works nicely for their second vehicle for around town.
Even the 80% number is still a fully functional car for regular commuting and errands. Its just the echo of range anxiety mostly.
