The only ones who have seen their lives improve in the past 20 years are the wealthy, so when one party says they are going to maintain the status quo, citing numbers that don’t mean squat to 90% of the electorate, and the other party says they are going to tear it all down and build up something else, it is no surprise that the public will choose option 2. That’s what has been happening across the entire world as the neoliberal foundations society has been built on start collapsing.
