Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said Sunday that air traffic controllers “are wearing thin” amid the ongoing government shutdown.
“The controllers are wearing thin,” Duffy told Maria Bartiromo on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures.” “And again, they’re taking second jobs, they’re out there looking, ‘Can I drive Uber, can I find another source of income to make ends meet?’”
Duffy also noted that 22 air traffic controller staffing triggers occurred at airports across the country on Saturday, the highest number to date during the shutdown. Air traffic controllers are working without pay during the funding lapse.

It would be a shame if ATC went offline across the US as a result of this shutdown
It’s a dying of shame kind of shame for normal people but pedo and rapist guardians have no shame as it is.
I have a work trip flying to Phoenix on the 1st and I don’t really want to go. It’d be awesome if ATC became either a full on blocker, or if there was some significant event that made it easy for me to bail on it (like a reasonable mistrust of the system to keep me safe for my trip). If it doesn’t fail before the 1st, I’d like to at least get back home before the 7th for an event with my wife; I’m fine to drive tbh. But I’d really like for the system to fail before the 10th, because i have to go to NYC for something stupid and I’d love an out.
