Honestly, if you buy a fucking appliance with a screen and didn’t expect it to feed you advertisements, it’s totally on you. That’s just dumb.

Don’t get me wrong, fuck the company! I hate the intrusion of ads into every orifice they can squeeze themselves into, but this feels like such a “No fucking duh” moment.

Yep, maybe this is one of those things that gets the ignorant “convenience” masses to pay attention.

I’ve lost all faith in that regard. I hate to think this way, but if the last decade in America has taught me anything, it’s that we have A LOT of fucking morons here. Like, not just “Oh, he’s a little oblivious”… No, I’m talking “He’s a danger to himself and anyone he comes into contact with” kind of stupid.

Either it’s a miracle we’ve come this far riding the backs of the unwashed moronic masses, or their has been a significant falling-off in the past 30 years that no amount of lead-paint could possibly explain.

I think the industrial revolution has just massively reduced people being filtered out, and dumb shits tend to have a bunch of kids

Eli5: I was convinced advertising degraded everything in my life. Apperantly I’m wrong… how does advertising “elevate” my quality of life and comfort.
