Donald Trump has publicly called it quits with one of his most stalwart MAGA-world supporters, calling Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene “‘Wacky’ Marjorie” and saying he would endorse a challenger against her in next year’s midterms “if the right person runs.”
The dismissal of Greene — once the epitome of “Make America Great Again,” sporting the signature red cap for President Joe Biden’s 2024 State of the Union address and acting as a go-between for Trump and other Capitol Hill Republicans — appeared to be the final break in a dispute simmering for months, as Greene has seemingly moderated her political profile.
The three-term U.S. House member has increasingly dissented from Republican leaders, attacking them during the just-ended federal government shutdown and saying they need a plan to help people who are losing subsidies to afford health insurance policies.
Is it normal that a president screams to the world that someone is “NOT MY FRIEND NO MORE, SO THERE!!” ?
Yeah, in US it’s an everyday happening. Not in countries that doesn’t have a pedophile as president, but in US it is completely normal.
I think for Trump the correct term is Pedodent.
If we’re being technical, he’s not a president and never was. He’s just the first Pedodent of the US
So he’s a child’s tooth? Unusual insult, but I ain’t defending him.
I don’t like it either but, technically he is the president of US, and he is a pedophile. History books will be less than kind.
He’s taking his ball home and he’s never going to talk to you again!
Interesting how even in the right wing world, the first ones to grow a spine and stop licking boots are women. Just an observation.
Resistance comes from oppression, and right wing communities are not friendly spaces for women. MTG has played “one of the good ones,” but Trump still won’t let her run for Senate. God knows what other harassment her peers impose (especially because she has been batshit in her role). She graduated from small-town nepo-baby to the billionaire crowd, and it’s probably been a shock how little those people care about her opinions.
The bootlickers may see inequality, but they attribute it to fickle whims of those in power rather than any kind of system. If you believe that success or failure comes from the patronage of the powerful, then ingratiating yourself to them is a rational strategy for getting ahead.
Not just any women, though, these are the ambitious women who have achieved political success on their own, and not just as an accessory to their husbands’ career. As batshit crazy as they are, they own their crazy directly.
Why does their political ambition align with a party who thinks they should all stay at home and cook meals for their men? I can’t explain that. But it seems like this Epstein shit has crossed a line for them.
the cracks on maga are widening, Boebert also showing some distance, two of the most coocoo nonetheless
I’m not surprised that the women are the first to be pushed out by MAGA.
How reductive of you.
These congressional representatives made the active choice to pull away from MAGA and make decisions that benefited their constituents.
Leadership did not appreciate that, which is to be expected. Republican establishment has generally reacted poorly when party members don’t toe the line. The only exceptions are long standing members or those in difficult districts to hold. These representatives are in Republican dominant districts, so they aren’t expected to need to compromise to retain the seat.
I don’t think them being women has much of anything to do with how their colleagues responded to them distancing themselves from MAGA
What made them pull away from MAGA? Would it happen to be issues that impact women more than men? Everything becomes a loyalty test to authoritarians, it just happens to start with the fringe groups. The minorities within their own ranks. Women happen to be just that.
Nice job moving your goal posts.
You did not claim they “pulled away” from MAGA. You claimed they were “pushed out” and implied this was because they were women.
One gives them agency the other reduces them down to their biological sex.
I do hope they made the choice to pull away realizing how bad these policies are for women.
You did not claim they “pulled away” from MAGA. You claimed they were “pushed out”
Both things are happening. I’m not moving any goal posts, you’re just trying to catch me on something I said in a comment because you’re stuck on semantics and needing to be right. But I’m not arguing against what you’re saying. I also hope more pull away. I hope as many people as possible abandon MAGA.
I’m trying to say there’s part of the MAGA base actively pushing women out. People talking about abolishing women’s suffrage, larping as trad-wives and generally doing everything they can to treat women like objects and not people. These things push women away.
Other conservative women see these things and also willingly pull away from MAGA. Both things can happen. Some people in the maga movement absolutely are reducing women to just their biological sex. But don’t get mad at me for it, I’m just trying to talk about it.
Both things are happening
That’s not what you said. Your initial comment implied that it was solely due to their sex.
Truthfully now that you’ve fleshed it out I mostly agree but your original comment did not represent this position.
One disagreement though
Some people in the maga movement absolutely are reducing women to just their biological sex. But don’t get mad at me for it, I’m just trying to talk about it.
That’s not what we were talking about. And the first part of the statement is obvious. Yes MAGA is misogynist, you’ll hear no disagreement from me there.
In the case of the two representatives they’re being pushed out for their views. You could convince me their sex made it easier for MAGA to turn on them once they disagree though. But Republicans in general have been very good at keeping their party in line and have a history of ostracizing party members who dissent
Yea I’m done, sorry but I don’t care enough to continue this conversation seriously. You’re inferring so freaking much from so little, It’s not worth my time or mental energy anymore.
How reactive of you.
Yes the facts are reactive aren’t they?
Facts are relative.
I suppose that is how the Republicans like to treat them
Objectively, facts are subjectively interpreted.
Also they ain’t no men MAGAts making a fuss about Epstein in front of the cameras. Where’s your reduction now?
All because Trump raped kids and blew Bill Clinton.
Please review the trump policy on collaborators:
Anyone who works with trump WILL be shit on. (Say it with me) No Exceptions
I hope the Republican party fractures. The more factions, the better.
Hope in vain it’ll never happen, these shit stains always vote in lockstep.
Republicans moving left will NOT save us.
Democrats need to move left and grab the 100 million voters sitting out because they believe neither side is doing anything for them.
I didn’t say anything about moving left. I just want to see the pro pedo factions fighting with the anti pedo factions.
“Jewish space lasers” “stepmoms aren’t real moms” mtg as the anti-pedo faction… What a world we live in
Right?
She’s the shark circling closest to Trump’s blood in the water. Of course he’s going to target her. I hope they both have fun with that.
They’ll kiss and make up, like he did with Elon, who publicly stated that Trump was in the Epstein files (I think he was guessing but it’s a good guess, though maybe he did know — I mean more so than we all knew).
The difference is Musk and most Confederates have zero values, whereas Greene and Boebert seem to be genuinely against pedophilia.
Also Perjury Traitor Greed is not a billionaire drug addict wishing her penis was big.
That we know of.
I am reminded of Lyndon Johnson’s “Better to have them inside the tent pissing out than outside pissing in”
Like a broken clock, trump is right occasionally by calling her a wacko. But seeing them fighting like a hostily divorced couple is a wonderful sight. Let’s break out the popcorn and celebrate!
