It’s art. It’s meant to provoke. Now put yourself in a vegan’s shoes for a moment and look again at this comic, and you see the grotesquerie of animal based agriculture laid bare.
It’s social comentary. Really really good social comentary. Edit - not vegan myself, but I get it.
Vegan here: I am still grossed out about how Dave exemplified drugging, abduction, compliance, murder, and cannibalism.
There so many more ways to do all the above without eviscerating your readers.You’re supposed to be. I’m sorry you feel art is only supposed to make you feel good.

The extreme negative reaction is part of it. Art plays all emotions, including inciting an audience against you. Sometimes artists don’t do it for us, they do it to see what happens.
