It’s something I struggle with. Some bad news comes out about some public persona doing something shitty and they get cancelled. But sometimes I really struggle with giving up the things they’ve made because I like them. There are also occasions where the person has been accused of something and it doesn’t seem true to me, or I think they’re genuinely sorry and have been punished enough, and the context isn’t being considered.

What do you think? Who do you feel conflicted about enjoying?

Louis CK is really funny, I haven’t seen his new stuff. I thought Chappelle was funny, but he’s not funny anymore. It’s not because he’s transphobic or homophobic now or whatever, I’m against those things, but a skilled comedian can make me involuntarily laugh at those kinds of jokes. It’s because he’s been replaced by a slightly fatter and unfunny clone. I don’t think he came back from hiatus and he’s still in Africa, this slightly fatter dude was made by Viacom I’m convinced. This dude is fatter, taller, and has a different skin tone, maybe that’s just from staying inside and eating dorritos or whatever he does, but he’s a different person at least metaphorically.
