Nobody in the fucking regime gives a shit what Democrats are “calling” for. They notified oil companies about the invasion of Venezuela, but literally not a single Dem

Oh nooooo decades of using our political positions for resistance theatrics have left us powerless in the face of fascism. Whelp, all in a day’s work

Not sure what you’re trying to accomplish with your message here? Just mocking I guess? Accurate, but not very productive

Very productive because it’s exposing one of the key issues leading to this problem.

Radical action is needed, the status quo cannot continue.

I mean, nothing productive is going to be happening in a comment section on the internet. But yeah. Just indulging my cynical feelings of powerlessness in a place where I know nothing matters

I disagree, but this kind of stuff is only productive on a 1 person at a time scale. You seem reasonable and I appreciate your response here

They need to make sure it’s done at the state level, since the demon in the WH will just nullify any outcome and let the murderer get away with it.

Two things - one, can they not have two different prosecutions, one at state and another as a federal felony? And while justice needs to be done, going full out as a federal case and having it dismissed or even pardoned would certainly be more gasoline on a fire that hopefully doesn’t go out soon.

I’m not for capital punishment, but whatever route it takes, I hope this guy never sees sunlight again.

They can charge him with both federal and state crimes that overlap, resulting in trials at both levels, but that’s not necessarily the winning strategy, and the interworkings of various agencies when it comes to dual state and federal charges is a complex subject.

But for myself, if this guy is charged at the state level I fully expect the DoJ to come in with federal action of some kind very quickly thereafter. Not to prosecute, but to sabotage the state level proceedings. They won’t have a choice: in order to continue recruiting for ICE and to keep the thugs they already have on the payroll from quitting, both of which are necessary to continue ramping up domestic unrest so as to impose martial law, they (DHS, DoJ, ICE) have to be seen to insulate their own hires from criminal repercussions.

EDITED to add link to the comment of someone who put it more cogently than I just did:

Personally I am all for vigilante retribution. Ideally he’d be convincted only to get whatever mush constitutes an ICE agents brain boiled due to “faulty” tempature controls in his cell.

Two high-profile Democrats are calling for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer involved in a fatal Wednesday shooting in Minneapolis to be prosecuted.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) called the shooting a “murder”

Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), a Silicon Valley representative, called for the officer to be arrested.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), who represents Minneapolis, condemned ICE’s actions as “unconscionable and reprehensible,” and called for “legal action.”

Cool, I guess? But, critically, we’re not hearing anything from the Minneapolis DA’s office or the Minnesota AG.

There was a press conference this afternoon where they basically said if the feds don’t let them have access to the agent, etc that they wouldn’t be able to build a strong enough case for trial.

Not one but TWO strongly worded letters from Schumer and Jeffries saying that Beastiality Barbie is bad and the agent should be arrested.
