Joseph H. Thompson, a career federal prosecutor who was the acting U.S. attorney for Minnesota last year, quit after the Justice Department sought to examine the woman’s supposed ties to activist groups.
Notice how they federal government is targeting the victims, not the traitors who are levying war against the United States on orders from the White House


So, it’s not like they’re going to run out of prosecutors, is leaving the case to someone who doesn’t have a problem with the nature of the investigation a real solution?
Also the prosecutor is supposed to take point on the focus of any investigation, bowing out is far less bad optics than the justice department outright steering an active investigation.
The only upside is as competent people leave, loyal but incompetent people have to do the work instead, which lead to outcomes like the failed Comey and James indictments…but those are hollow victories that are soon overshadowed by the next injustice
Maybe it’s not that much of a matter of the common better (somebody elected Trump, after all) but a matter of personal integrity. Not everybody is willing to do anything, after all.
