Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a statement there was “no basis” for an investigation. The statement comes as new polling shows over half of Americans say the shooting was unjustified.

Justice Department officials said on Jan. 13 there is “no basis” for an investigation into the killing of Renee Nicole Good, the mother of three whose fatal shooting by an immigration enforcement agent sparked protests across the country.

“There is currently no basis for a criminal civil rights investigation,” Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a statement referring to Good.

The 37-year-old was fatally shot on Jan. 7 in Minneapolis, Minnesota by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent Jonathan Ross, when she moved her car forward near the ICE agent. Her death has inspired widespread protests against the Trump administration’s militarized use of the Department of Homeland Security.

Dems had no real power the entire administration

    Really?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/117th_United_States_Congress

50/50 senate and a house majority for two years…

That wasn’t enough for the guy who campaigned as the “Senate whisperer” who could get Republicans on board for compromise long before we dreamed of a 50/50 split?

Are you telling me that asking Biden to get something thru a 50/50 Senate was impossible?

Then why the fuck did he lie so much about what he could do, and why aren’t you upset with him?

Like, logically you’re still saying it’s his fault.

Also, somebody should mention the fact that 50 votes in the Senate plus a VP tiebreaker vote was all that was needed to just throw out the filibuster

Amazing how people who accuse progressives of not knowing how stuff works or whatever always forget that little detail

The sad part is, Ive explained it to them before.

I didn’t recognize them at first, but I blocked them at least once under that same user name from a different instance.

Like, they were just following me around calling me a commie for a while:

Looks like when they got banned from lemmy.ml, they suddenly wanted to make a new account for unrelated reasons.

It always starts out semi-rational, but when you respond rationally and calmly they immediately start making maga level insults. It’s probably why they have to keep making so many accounts.

Yes, a Democrat getting something through a 50/50 Senate is fucking impossible and has been for nearly two decades.

Then why did Biden say he could get the dem platform thru a Republican majority Senate if he was elected?

Like, let’s get that part cleared up, if it’s impossible as you say then Biden was either lying his ass off, or he was already so far gone mentally he really believed it.

In either case, how are you still insisting he is blameless?

        Edit:

        From 12/25/20

President-elect Joe Biden expressed optimism that he will be able to work with Republicans because of his years working alongside them, despite a sharply divided Congress.

“My leverage is, every senior Republican knows I’ve never once, ever, misled them,” Biden said on a telephone call Wednesday with several columnists, according to The New York Times. “I’ll never publicly embarrass them.”

        https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/531661-biden-on-working-with-senate-republicans-ill-never-publicly-embarrass-them/

        Even into 2022

Speaking at a White House news conference, Biden vowed to work with Republicans and said he understood voters are frustrated despite Democrats’ surprisingly competitive campaign.

“The American people have made clear, I think, that they expect Republicans to be prepared to work with me as well,” Biden said. He also reiterated his intention to run for re-election in 2024 and said he would make a final decision early next year.

A White House official said Biden spoke by phone on Wednesday with Republican House leader Kevin McCarthy, who would be the leading candidate for House speaker if Republicans win a majority.

If it’s so obvious, why didn’t Biden notice?
