Musk made such huge promises about the cybertruck that it ended up costing double what he said, and had half the performance we expected. That’s a really bad result.

It shows just how much he has changed in the last few years (beyond the obvious white-nationalist stuff), as Musk originally said Tesla would pivot to a more traditional design if the Cybertruck failed. It has failed. Now what?

I feel like his ego was already strong enough back then that he never had any intention to pivot

The Tesla Cybertruck program is in shambles. The latest data indicate production is running at roughly 10% of its planned capacity. Meanwhile, the Ford F150 Lightning outsold the Tesla Cybertruck in 2025 and was then canceled for not selling enough.

True of Volkswagen too, but those fascists are dead. Tesla and Toyota are currently being led by them.

It’s much easier to list the car companies that don’t have demons in their closets. The South Korean automakers? Rivian? Some of the Chinese ones maybe? All debatable I’m sure. Basically every other automaker I can think of either sold jeeps and other machinery to the Nazis at some point or literally were/are Nazis.

Fuck sake, I like my Toyota. If I bought it second hand and didn’t give them any money do I get a pass?

          Maybe, if:

          • You only buy aftermarket parts for it.
          • You never mention the brand on social media again.
          • You cover the front and rear badges, or replace them with nonfigurative flower signs.

          /s

Lets be real, if a company is somewhere around 100+ years old, odds are like 1:1 the founders were shitheels. Can’t indict them for that. By all means indict them for other shit though, there’s prob plenty.
