Had to call up a company and their hold music was Metallica’s Enter Sandman. I liked that. Got all the way to the final chorus before I got to the person I needed to talk to. What I find pretty interesting is that the wait time was briefly interrupted by someone picking up, but when they put me back on hold the music picked up where it left off instead of starting from the beginning.

How was the sound quality? I’m always flabbergasted theres still
hold music that sounds like it’s coming from the bottom of the ocean. Phone systems are all digital now. Its not like this is some 8 track Muzak tape thats been on an endless loop since 1979.
I’m convinced it’s a tactic to have you drop the call.
This may surprise you, but I’m not going to pay to store lossless FLAC and stream it to you (and hundreds/thousands/millions of others). It’s just not a concern
Who said anything about lossless freaking FLAC? A 96kbps MP3 would still be leagues better than some hold music I’ve heard. Like seriously, sometimes I swear I’m listening to a Fisher-Price sing-along book that laid on the course of a demolition derby for a couple years.
