            I’m sure some people would be interested, but I just can’t imagine a lot would find the idea of living in the metaverse appealing, even if it’s forever.

            Giving full control to some nutjobs…

                That’s not my point. Do you really think would people want to live out the rest of their existence in a digital space under the dictatorship of some power-hungry billionaires? If they can even be arsed to do anything, they’d most likely abandon it after a few years (just like what’s happening to the metaverse and every other similar online space already) leaving you spending your days in a literal void.

                  If anything they’d just shut it off, killing any consciousness trapped in the simulation.

                  But my point is I think you underestimate the amount of people who would bw interested regardless of all the negatives.
