He really was the most relatable person on that show…
I can certainly relate to the imposter syndrome and insecurity.
But then they turned him into a sex pest and nope.
Though my biggest beef with the episode with his holodexk fantasy is that Troi is more or less forced to continue providing therapy despite being his victim.
Even if somehow she was okay with that, as an object of his delusions… she can’t actually provide the kind of care he needs.
“I can’t, captain.”
“There’s literally no one else.”
“I’m fine with that.”
And if she’s the only therapist on board…that’s even more fucked up.
Like. a token effort. Typically, therapists will see 15-30 people a week. Figure monthly regular meetings, and all the time she spends on the bridge not doing therapy and assisting Picard with diplomacy and stuff… She’s maybe providing regular care for the senior staff.
Starfleet health insurance only covers mental health for officers.
they should probably consider therapy for all those kids getting fucked up because they’re constantly being exposed to violence and death and scientific douchebaggery. (aka, poorly conceived experiments conducted without proper safety protocols…)
How else would you get soldiers for the next war in a post scarcity communist utopia?
C’mon, O’Brien keeps an endless supply of them in the transport buffer.
I hate how the wall behind him looks like the backdrop of a splatter film
And now I can’t unsee that.
maybe you should discuss this with the counseler >:D
What? And become Troi’s next victim?
That’s depression
Yeah but I mean /gestures widely
Yes, but no
