    Could it be the complex interlocking and stifling nature of Capitalism, leading governments to defund education and drop support for poorer communities? No, it’s the technology that’s causing cognitive decline. Capitalists are fine actually and can stay as they are.

      ah, so it’s no longer “we need to leave this world better than we found it for our kids to be happy”, now it’s “whatever, the kids will handle it. oh we fucked up their education? lmao, that’s a them problem”

    It would be good if, when people use technical devices, they didn’t just rely on them, but tried to understand or study how it all works. And schoolchildren would also be taught how it all works, at least within the limits of what is possible for them, and not just click on the buttons and get the result. And completely replacing writing with a pen with typing on a keyboard is also not always good.
