  • After one piece of the Netflix one piece adaptation I finally hunkered down and watched the anime from start to (the current available dub c. Jan. 2024) which was about middle of the Wano arc. That show obviously was and is janky as fuck but there are some sequences in the Wano arc where I literally was like “that was some awesome and amazing fucking work” Especially when the former retainers did their initial invasion of Kaidou’s castle. (Been a while but that sequence of the three or four samurai’s initial invasion is honestly some of the coolest art I’ve seen in any anime, up there with randomly finding adult swim and watching the Cowboy Bebop opening back when I was 12)

I heard a tale that that woman was not an actor but in fact some local resident who was waylaid by the filming of that scene so she was compensated by getting to deliver that line. No idea of the validity but an interesting tidbit if true.

  • She could run for a state house position, for congress, for governor. She is instead making a small amount of noise for a small amount of stupid people who think her candidacy means anything other than bleeding a small amount of votes from the candidate that actually has a chance to win in a race that is between the continuation of American democracy or its cessation.

Yes the two party system is a problem, but the presidential race is not where that problem is solved, local elections are; but there’s no way to grift people at a national level in small elections.

  • Stein is not ever going to win the presidency and her running is an active campaign for Trump, full stop. If the Green Party was a serious political entity they would be running down ballot candidates before just running one charlatan for president.

That being said; this is a Newsweek article so I question any validity to it. I have been asked to respond to a poll if I would be voting for Harris and I actively chose not to because I didn’t like the sassy bullshit language used in the text. Polls are useless bullshit.

  • The “I hate the sound of my voice” refrain is the most annoying shit I hear and honestly think most people who vocalize that thought are just acting out their own internalized script of how to not appear self-centered (while actually being incredibly self-centered). Your voice sounds the exact same to everyone else coming out of your fish-hole as it does coming out a speaker.

Edit: I’m not saying that your perceived own voice doesn’t sound different to you when speaking versus when played back initially but after years of doing recorded voice work I can say—you get used to it pretty quickly and the differences kinda blend away into a wash of “that is how I sound.” That is why I find that common refrain to be annoying.

Anyway, no one listening to a recording of you thinks “oh they sound weird.”
