3·2 months agoI also made the switch with no plan of looking back, and the only thing was that some odd interaction between the integrated and dedicated GPU caused the Steam UI to not work. The fix was disabling “Hardware accelerated Web” something something, and I was playing shortly after downloading the first game.

3·3 months agoUsing currently available weather data to change flight routes. You can predict where they are likely to form and tell planes to avoid those airspaces.
If you watch the video I posted you’ll hear a scientist who’s studied this problem and shown it to be quite viable, for only a few dollars more per ticket. It’s incredibly low hanging fruit that should’ve been implemented yesterday.

4·6 months agoThen you have Stig Pedersen in D-A-D who’s left-handed and gets his instruments specially made. He decided to only have two strings on those.
Not even an app, it is/was a storage service in Google Cloud that was set up to be public without authentication or without any other security features enabled.

Especially when helping your parents living in the middle of nowhere.
Seeing them struggle with the changes happening in the last few decades, makes me worry what I’ll be like when i need some young whippersnapper so that I can pay via personal, irrational, conditional thinking.
They’ve made Windows IoT Core that runs on Raspberry Pi. I have a colleague that maintains a tanning bed system that uses two Pis running that for each bed, one to operate the bed itself and one to accept payments.

There was a story a few years back where a Danish guy made an extension to “Unbait” headlines on the particularly egregious news sites here. Of course they complained, i believe on grounds of copyright infringement, and I think they sued the guy.
