I have to assume that also, it’s a game that is definitely not for everyone, and the price reflects that. If I only got as far as I have in 5 hours and decided to give up, I’d have been sore about $40. As it is I’m going to spend a lot more time with it and I’m already happy with how much entertainment I’ve got for my money.
So anyway I was giving it to her soup to nuts, course after course, tossed salads, amuse bouchés, I used my whole mise en place that night and the whole place smelled of it. Real night to remember.
It’s definitely a tricky situation where any pressure you put on either of them could backfire. A better approach might be to branch out socially and emphasize other people in your life. Spend more time with friends or in the community, putting that energy into more reciprocal relationships. If it makes your husband want a return to normalcy, great. If it doesn’t, you’re still thriving.
It can be hard to recreate the way things used to be, and life keeps on changing. I wish for the old days with my mates but there’s a dozen reasons those days are behind me, and I should follow my own advice. The only thing worse than failing to go back in time is standing still, right?

It can always get worse. I found the US bad enough to leave five years ago. The UK is on the same path, but it seems like nowhere is truly resistant to the larger problems.
If America’s cities were all occupational juntas, practically speaking what would be different? Extrajudicial killings? Public officials and journalists being threatened? Dissent brutally quelled? Top-down class war?
Like they wouldn’t be absolutely fine with being a minority party. They’re comfortable, and they expect to stay that way no matter what.

I hadn’t heard of those two, loving them both already! I love brass mixed into other music but I’ve never been much of a ska fan, which is the first place you usually expect to get that. It’s hard to know where to look and I’m always delighted to find it.
Stuff like Gwar’s Saddam A-Go-Go (even when Brockie was poking fun at ska he did it well) and N.A.S.A.'s Spacious Thoughts where the brass takes an already heavy sound and makes it soar - it gives me life every time.
RTJ is so fucking good at bringing that class conscious fire in the belly that RATM did. To be honest though, I think acts like Brass Against are keeping the music and the message alive and deserve a lot more visibility.
