Now that would be a beautiful thing. Third party voters such as myself wouldn’t get so much hate if ranked choice is an option.

I suspect two possibilities:

• Trump chickens out by April and says he got everything he wanted out of Iran anyways.
• Trump feels spiteful and decides to do The Big One on Iran because they really pissed him off.

I feel Trump is going to declare victory over nothing, but there’s always that intrusive thought that Trump will do something more unprecedented.

Oh, I wouldn’t be so sure. Dems will probably take the House, but not the Senate.

I anticipate a few impeachment attempts that go nowhere. Then Trump will conquer Cuba for giggles. Then things will flip a bit more, and a Republican president will “declare war” on China for who knows why. Then none of this will matter.

I think you’ve got a case of correlation not causation here.

One big reason the Roman army turned stupider is because the smart ones all died in the endless civil wars. The 3rd century was not a peaceful time.

More wealth extraction means more profits!

I propose having Mike Pence win the Democratic primary. He has all the demographic stuff covered, and the story is perfect: Once aligned with the GOP, he broke away and now sides with the Democrats to seize the Presidency from Trump. The Blue No Matter Who people will sail Pence through the primary and the general. It’s the perfect plan!

Aha! I’ve got it! The US is performing a humanitarian operation where they aid Iran with reducing their CO₂ emissions.

Ah, yes. I shall provide a justification for the war on Trump’s behalf, as a devout follower of Vengeful Christ and Merciless Mary.

You see, after conquering the Roman Empire, Jesus viewed the Persians as enemies of God Himself. Those who follow Zoroastrianism do not follow God. It is for this reason Jesus sought revenge against the Persians for their lack of faith, and instituted pogroms to remove any of Persian descent from the Empire. Regrettably, Jesus was unable to complete His campaign against the Persians before his untimely death.

What Trump thought of as a “feeling” was actually an order from Vengeful Christ, to finish what He started. Jesus considers the existence of Iran to be an affront to His eternal glory, and the region must be subjugated for Jesus’ return.

It’s times like these I wish California would utilize the Pretender System to elect a governor. It would solve so many problems.

Ah, yes, I remember this part of the Bible. If I remember correctly, the Romans laughed when Jesus promised revenge. And then He jumped off the cross and killed every single person at Golgotha without mercy. And then He marched on Rome and decapitated Emperor Tiberius with His own hands for attempting to stop Jesus. They don’t call Him “Vengeful Christ” for nothing.

It stands to reason, then, that the Republicans must exact revenge, as Jesus would’ve done.

And I voted third party! Don’t forget that piece of important context.
