If I’m taking on something when I already have a full schedule, I think this and decide if I should pursue the activity or not.
Otherwise, if I’m feeling lazy, I think of what my future self would have to put up with if I didn’t do that particular task.

You’ll find that there are tech enthusiasts and tech consumers. Tech enthusiasts are usually fans of FLOSS and want technology accessible for all; basically they want tech to work for them. Tech consumers are usually fans of what’s new on the tech market and become the product.
I’m part of the former. These glasses are awful in every way possible, so much so that the alleged benefits are minuscule in comparison to privacy breaches, misuse of data by a private company, training of AI models on that stolen data, parasitic and enforces a reliance on being online.
I’d much rather trust independent research than a private profit driven tech company to develop anything to assist disabilities. There’s already tech being developed that potentially restores some sight to the blind.

LED head lights have to go until car manufacturers learn how to use them properly. It’s perfectly possible to have non glare LEDs but the cheap mofos won’t want to spend money to retool everything.

Yes. Websites were dead easy to make. I could fit all my music onto one floppy disk because I saved them as midis. There were no standards for sound or graphics cards so everything played different on different computers. You could access information without needing to sign up because emails were just emerging. You could get an email address with a name you wanted. Adobe hadn’t bought Macromedia yet. Autodesk hadn’t bought 3ds max yet. Animated gifs. Flying toaster screensavers. In fact, the screensavers had sound! Would give you a great attack if you left your speakers on.
I hate gift cards but work gives them out for our birthdays each year. I always request games related gift cards. To hear that Steam are no longer selling them is disappointing considering that it’s my main gaming platform.
