The hospital chaplain defeated two rivals and is favored in November to become the state’s first transgender legislator.

They keep telling us we should hate these people, and we keep telling them that we don’t want to hate these people, we hate the people who tell us to hate these people.

Super important to mention that she is transgender. Wouldn’t be a real headline without it. Next I expect accurate penis lengths in headlines, too. Or the volume of a nipple in a weird freedom unit.

Edit: Glad that the fediverse showed once more to have absolutely zero knowledge how sociology works. Keep on believing that mentioning gender changes in a headline is going to solve issues and unite people. And maybe read a book or two how humans actually work.

Edit2: I am really amused by the comments here. Need to remember doing more posts like this in the future, because it shows how derailed a lot of Americans are. Keep on voting Trump!

I think it’s important for other trans people to know that they are supported.

This was the post directly before this one in my feed. When we stop facing violent mobs for using the bathroom, and facing criminal charges for being the victims in this country, maybe you’d have a point. Until then, go fuck a cactus.

Except that they are treated differently than other people. It’s important to highlight the victories to support the movement and further bring attention to it. Were you also an “All Lives Matter” person?

They are supported by the fact, that they are not treated differently than others.

Are you fucking new to the Internet or something? America literally has laws that prevent transgender people from getting healthcare, or using the bathroom. Not treated different? Fuck outta here.

Except they are treated differently, transphobia is alive and well.

It’s a privileged position to be able to ignore discrimination.

You talk a lot about this topic for someone who does not appear to know any trans people. Stop running your mouth. You aren’t smart, you’re just condescending and disconnected from reality.

        • Being a gender abolitionist is fine (if that’s what you’re trying to express here) but not at the expense of celebrating trans pride. As it stands, your comments look like transphobia to me. If not transphobia then why transphobia shaped?

Rosa Parks a person once sat on a bus. This made people angry, but it would be inappropriate to discuss why many people didn’t like that

Well considering the piece is from Advocate, an lgbtq news site, it is directly important for the piece to explain why it is newsworthy to their readers. Without the mention of it, it becomes confusing why they would publish a piece about a (presumably straight) person. By including this one word, the reader is much better informed about why this piece has been published, and thus more likely to read it for the details.

But you go on being weird af talking about cock size. I mean I don’t mind sharing myself, but it does make you look a bit, shall we say, off your rocker.

My nipples are 1.2 the diameter of a cupcake, just to fill you in. 🦅🧁

It is interesting to me that you see something related to transgender people and suddenly start thinking of genitals for some reason. As if that’s all the fuck we are to you.

Two kinds of people I’ve known do this: transphobes, and chasers.

As a trans woman myself, I think it’s cool they mentioned it. As long as she’s out and not trying to be stealth, fly it high and let everyone see.

Gender wars? This is not about gender wars, actually quite the opposite. For as long as you have to label things, there cannot be a unity.

All the hypocritical people here disagreeing with me while demanding toilets that are not labeled as Male/Female, demand that they get labeled in other places. This makes absolutely no sense.

Again, no unity if you expect to be treated as a different label. Unity works the opposite way.

How do you describe people? Do you call them all people? Do you never characterize by race or sex or religion or all of the above?

You are a hypocrite at best or a maga chud at worst(my bet).

PEOPLE SHOULDNT HAVE TO HIDE WHO THEY ARE BECAUSE SOCIETY DOESNT ACCEPT THEM.

SOCIETY SHOULD ACCEPT PEOPLE WHO ARE DIFFERENT FROM THE NORM BECAUSE THEY ARE HUMAN BEINGS.

YOU(AND YOUR ILK) ARE THE PROBLEM IN THIS EQUATION.
