If you know why this happens pls help. model Ender 3.
Seems like the top right corner is getting really close to the nozzle. Could be levelling, yeah.
I’m not sure how the ender works, but on my mk3s, I’ve had gunk under the springboard that did something similar.
Thanks. I will check it. I thought I did the leveling correctly prior to printing.
Ender 3 can be a bit finicky. Make sure to check all corners at least twice after leveling. When you level one side, another can be out of level again.
You can also try a different bed material. A glass plate is more flat than the flex one.
If your printer is fully stock, replacing the bed springs either with silicone spacers or stiffer springs can be a good value upgrade. Keeps the bed from unleveling itself while printing, and IMO it also makes the initial adjustment a tiny bit easier. A bed probe is an immense quality of life improvement though, if you can afford to spend a little more money, since it both compensates for less-than-perfect bed leveling and also for any unevenness in the bed surface.
On the subject of upgrades, stay away from the “all-metal extruder” which used to be popular on Amazon etc. The stock Ender 3/v2 extruder is poorly designed and breaks easily. The metal version of it doesn’t break, but it’s still has the same bad design. If you’re going to invest money in a new extruder there are better options.
There does seem to be a leveling issue (based on the difference in bed adhesion on the four pieces), but I’m kind of having a hard time figuring out what’s going on with the band that goes around the outside. Can you upload a screenshot of what this looks like in your slicer? And is this just one layer?
So for me the big bad indicator is basically the upper right corner on the one hand it looks like it was squished to much on the other it looks like an adhesive issue on the last layers of the right side.So a few questions that pop up for me: How does the file look like? Is it maybe wrongly sliced and the last part is in the air? Did you do manual mesh bed leveling? Did you check the bed level from the gantry to the plate with a kaliper to make sure it doesn’t change height between prints (to much)? How old is you nozzle? Is it maybe partially blown?
I immediately noticed the floating extrusion. but when you said this i realized they where right next to each other. if thats a bad sensor the manual leveling might work but i wonder if theres something(probably a bit of filament waste) under the sheet causing it to ripple or the build plate isnt very flat.
a high spot during probing could cause havoc on the interpolation and i could see it causing something like this. manual leveling would kinda help that but that spot would still be a disaster.
Yeah it’s a weird thing that I would assume cones from bad slicing, a bad bed or bad mesh leveling. But this can have different reasons too.
Further there are holes in the print, which are a possible problem with extrusion width
Edit: it could also be that it was a bed level change mid print notice how some of it is printed over.
looks like not just leveling but possible warping of your print bed or z-wobble.
Bed leveling is the first suspect, but I would also make sure that the x gantry doesn’t wobble, moves smoothly, and is level to the bed.
Check the y axis to make sure there’s no wobble and the bed moves smoothly. Also make sure the rest of the frame is tight and square and the belts are tight.
Leveling can be a pain to get right on the ender3, but loose screws, flat wheels, ect will make it impossible. Also my usual left field advice of making sure nothing is stuck to the underside of your build plate, nor trapped in between the plate and the bed. I’ve gotten bit by that one before, as I have recounted several times. Tiny scraps of filament trapped in between, or whatever. That will cause high spots in unexpected places.
