Palmer Luckey of Anduril is teaming with Ben Lamm of Colossal Biosciences to launch Warhound, a startup dedicated to genetically engineering and cloning dogs for service in war, police work and first responder work.
Speaking to Wired, Lamm explained that the project was twofold. One part of the project would oversee the genetic engineering and cloning of the ideal dogs for war, and the other would develop tech for them to use on battlefields.

This still does not cancel out what i said, spending money to make genenetically engineered dogs to kill people is utterly stupid when you could finance more research to actual useful things that gene engineering do: curing genetic illnesses, discover if they can replicate axolotl’s regeneration on other animals, see why the heck some animals just have lower chances of gettin cancer, find out if we can speed up wound healing (or prevent scars!) And all this stuff
Well, it does lol. You said they don’t spend money on cancer gene therapy, when the fact is they spend hundreds of times the amount of this headline on it.
I think it’s morally bankrupt to fund genetic research on war dogs in general, but that’s a completely different argument and is irrelevant to the conversation about cancer therapy.
You could literally say the same thing about any money spent. Why spend money on battery research for EVs when you could spend that on cancer research?
The two are not related.
I was talking about this rich idiot not everyone, it also was the first thing that came in mind because you could use genetic engineering to combat some cancers
Edit:
Well if you read the community notes on it, this money isn’t even towards the genetic part. It’s to fund armor to protect the dogs in the field lol.
