Oh look - the latest article in the ongoing series - “Sure we’ve turned America into a shithole, but why are young people avoiding sex/marriage/parenthood?”
Total mystery. Must be the internet!
The Internet certainly seems to be playing a role in the broader enshitification of America.
If young people are working multiple gig jobs, forming polycules to make rent and naming their houseplants because landlords won’t let them get a dog, how are they expected to become parents? Perhaps we can have some lifestyle programming showing them developing-world sweatshop workers who balance breastfeeding with working a 120-hour week as aspirational models?
The solution is of course to take away women’s reproductive rights and healthcare.

After watching a “third world worker makes food really fast” video I thought about who that appeals to other than people that want to watch sensory experiences. It was asshole CEOs and bosses that want to actively hate on and work their staff into dust. I thought a possibly profitable venture would be just making a subscription service that would serve them up those videos with statistics about how productive x person is.
Of course, people profiteering off the videos of these literally poor people without giving anything back are doing something unethical, so doing it on a bigger scale is also unethical and not worth it in case it fails. (thus, bad for ethical AND pragmatic reasons)
