LifeDeath goalsBut in all seriousness, I think it would be great if we could shift our views of what an appropriate burial looks like. The Infinity Mushroom Burial Suit captured a lot of attention since Jae Rhim Lee’s TED Talk, although from what I can tell the underlying company has gone defunct in the past several years. How cool would it be to feed a tree and become part of the ecosystem? That’s a real legacy.
Simply being buried without your body being pumped full of toxic chemicals and not in a sealed box is becoming part of the ecosystem.
“They lived as they died…”
in some places, you’re required to be in a sealed box by law if you are not cremated
Even that is just a delay.
There’s a company that turns you into compost… let me see if i can find it.

Consensually, or…? 😏
This is really cool, though. Interesting that they don’t address residual toxic materials in your body, but something to look into.
If they’re taking non-consensual orders I’ve got a list that’s going to need a solid crowd funding campaign.
hey, that’s what I want! i have those specific conversations with my wife that i want to be composted, if it’s legal when and where i die. then hopefully my remains can be used to grow something. Like a tree (I have four or five I’m trying to narrow it down which I want) or some native pollinator friendly plants, a return my nitrogen to the soil kinda bullshit. i don’t want to be pumped full of noxious chemicals so i don’t rot in a wood box in a cement box i can handle the chemicals myself tyvm. failing that i want to be cremated and have my cremains scattered to a classic disco tune as one final joke to my family.
BUT
whatever brings her the most peace is what she should do. I’m gone, and her healing takes top priority.
at least I’m better than my younger sister, who wants a sky burial (left on a ledge to be eaten by birds until she is a skeleton), then wants to donate the skeleton to a medical school.
