The most ridiculous thing about Captain Planet was that all the villains were in it solely for the environmental destruction.

They could have made it a critique about capitalism destroying the planet for profit, but they chose the lazy, stupid, disingenuous option. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was supposed to be that way till corpos got a hold of it.
